March / Addaru from the Proto-Kaldi (Akkadian – Babylonian) linguistics root means the Howl Wind; the local Iraqis call it "Adar al Haddar", which literary means the agitating March. It is the month dedicated to "Ili Sebitti" the seven great warrior protector gods. Modern-day Iraqis call this Babylonian symbol locally (Um Sabi'a Eyoun). Addaru is also the month of flailing the wheat. On Addaru, the last month of the Chaldean Babylonian Calendar, Chaldeans chose, based on their deep and rich history, the local Mother's Day event that usually occurs on the Spring Equinox (March 21st) to celebrate the Chaldean Mother's Tongue Day. This date marks the celebration of our ancestors' creation of the first-ever known writing system (Pictograph) around 4100 B.C. However, the roots of this writing system go back to the 8th millennium B.C.
