Documentation

By default, this template will display as collapsed on article pages, and when opened will display only the three top-level groups: "East Semitic languages", "West Semitic and Central Semitic languages" and "South Semitic languages". To force the template to open, use |state=uncollapsed

For the template to display, when opened, the whole of a single subgroup, use one of the following:

  • {{Semitic languages|East}} or {{Semitic languages|expanded=East}}
  • {{Semitic languages|Northwest}} or {{Semitic languages|expanded=Northwest}}
  • {{Semitic languages|Arabic}} or {{Semitic languages|expanded=Arabic}}
  • {{Semitic languages|Western South}} or {{Semitic languages|expanded=Western South}}
  • {{Semitic languages|Eastern South}} or {{Semitic languages|expanded=Eastern South}}
How to manage this template's initial visibility

To manage this template's visibility when it first appears, add the parameter:

|state=collapsed to show the template in its collapsed state, i.e. hidden apart from its titlebar – e.g. {{Semitic languages |state=collapsed}};
|state=expanded to show the template in its expanded state, i.e. fully visible – e.g. {{Semitic languages |state=expanded}};
|state=autocollapse to show the template in its collapsed state but only if there is another template of the same type on the page – e.g. {{Semitic languages |state=autocollapse}}.

Unless set otherwise (see the state parameter in the template's code), the template's default state is autocollapse.
