Al-Hasakah District (Arabic: منطقة الحسكة, Kurdish: Devera Hesiçe) is a district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Al-Hasakah Governorate, Syria. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 480,394.[1] Its administrative centre is the city Al-Hasakah.
Sub-districts
The district of Al-Hasakah is divided into seven sub-districts or Nāḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):
- Al-Hasakah Nahiyah (ناحية الحسكة): population 251,570.[2]
- Tell Tamer Nahiyah (ناحية تل تمر): population 50,982.[3]
- Al-Shaddadeh Nahiyah (ناحية شدادة): population 58,916.[4]
- Markada Nahiyah (ناحية مركدة): population 34,745.[5]
- Bir al-Helou Nahiyah (ناحية بئر الحلو): population 38,833.[6]
- Al-Arishah Nahiyah (ناحية العريشة): population 30,544.[7]
- Al-Hawl Nahiyah (ناحية الهول): population 14,804.[8]
