Chaldean National Calendar 2020 AD 7320 K أهلاً بشهر نيسان ... التقويم القومي الكلداني 7320ك The Chaldean Babylonian year begins in spring, and is divided into (Resh Shatim) beginning of the New Year, Mishil Shatim middle of the year", and Qut Shatim end of the year. Nisannu “April” marks the victory of the supreme god of Babylon and entire Mesopotamia “Mardukh” and his hard work to create Earth and Sky (the universe) and mankind. Nisannu is linked with the spring equinox and during this month the “Akitu” Festival takes place in Babylon which comprises the sacred marriage rituals “Hashadu”. Therefore, it is referred to as the Love month. Chaldean Babylonians marked Nisannu as the joyful period of the beginning of "springtime", where many flowering plants that symbolize love bloom at this time of year in a long succession, sweet water of the eternal rivers Tigris and Euphrates provide new life to land, clear blue sky, and long sunny days of ancient Babylonia.
