Ras al-Ayn District

Ras al-Ayn District (Arabic: منطقة رأس العين) is a district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Al-Hasakah Governorate, Syria. At the 2004 census it had a population of 177,150.[1] Its administrative centre is the city of Ras al-Ayn. It is populated by Arabs, Kurds and Assyrians.
Sub-districts
The district of Ras al-Ayn is divided into three sub-districts or Nāḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):
- Ras al-Ayn Nahiyah (ناحية رأس العين): population 121,536.[2]
- Al-Darbasiyah Nahiyah (ناحية الدرباسية): population 55,614.[3]
