Al-Malikiyah District

Al-Malikiyah District (Arabic: منطقة المالكية, Kurdish: Dêrikê, Derika Hemko) is a district (mantiqah) administratively belonging to Al-Hasakah Governorate, Syria. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 191,994.[1] Its administrative centre is the city Al-Malikiyah. It is both the northernmost and easternmost district in Syria.
Sub-districts
The district of Al-Malikiyah is divided into four sub-districts or Nāḥiyas (population according to 2004 official census):
- Al-Malikiyah Nahiyah (ناحية المالكية): population 112,000.[2]
- Al-Jawadiyah Nahiyah (ناحية الجوادية): population 40,535.[3]
- Al-Yaarubiyah Nahiyah (ناحية اليعربية): population 39,459.[4]
