Nabonidus (/ˌnæbəˈndəs/; Akkadian Nabû-naʾid, "Nabu is praised", نابونيد) is the last king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire, reigning from 556–539 BC.

Historiography

Modern perceptions of Nabonidus' reign has been heavily colored by accounts written well after his reign as king of Babylon, most notably by the Persians and the Greeks. As a result, Nabonidus has often been described in very negative terms in both modern and contemporaneous scholarship. Chaldean Language Alphabet

The specific version of Chaldean language which you will be learning here is Sourath. Chaldean Sourath also called Eastern Aramiac is spoken in Mesopotamia Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran and Lebanon. If you need to learn Western Aramiac Dialect, this course would give you a base of Chaldean knowledge, but it will more likely just confuse you.
