Šabāṭu / February is the 11th Babylonian month dedicated to Adad, the god of Lightning, Thunder and Storm. Its ancient Babylonian linguistics root derived from the Proto-Kaldi language. The meaning of the Akkadian word Šabāṭu or Shabaṭu / ITI.ZÍZ.A.AN also ITI.ZÍZ.A (Sumerian) is the wand or the painful blow (the whip) because of the north wind's brutal coldness. Despite the harsh nature of the month, it is on the other hand, an opportunity for lovers to stay together longer and express their feelings of intimacy. As the wise Babylonian stated: In Life If You Do not Love and Be Loved, Then You Have Never Existed! ~ Amer Hanna Fatuhi, Ph.D.

كرس البابليون الكلدان شهر (شباط) لإله البرق والرعد والعاصفة (أدد). الجذر اللغوي البابلي لكلمة شباطو (الأكدية) مأخوذ عن لغة (الكلدان الأوائل) ويقرأ في السومرية (إيتي- زيَز - آ- آن)، التي تعني (المرعد) وأيضاً الصولجان أو الضربة الموجعة أو وقع السوط أي (صوت الجلد من الفعل يجلد)، وذلك بسبب قساوة ريحه الباردة. برغم الطبيعة القاسية لهذا الشهر، إلا أنه كان من ناحية أخرى بمثابة فرصة للمحبين للإختلاء معاً لفترة أطول والتعبير عن مشاعرهم الحميمة ، كما قال الحكيم البابلي: في هذه الحياة، إذا لم تُحِبْ وتُحَبْ فأن معنى هذا هو أنك لم تَعِشْ! ~ د. عامر حنا فتوحي}}
